Shakita Travel, Consumer and Real Estate Agent for Working Solutions
It doesn’t take long to figure out that Shakita, an agent from Atlanta, is an expert at customer service. She is pleasant, courteous and professional. Plus, she is so much more.
Shakita is an expert in public health with a master’s degree from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Georgia Southern.
After graduation, she moved on to become an assistant director for the health promotion office at a university in South Florida. That work, however, recently came to an end, and Shakita decided to move back to Atlanta to be closer to her family.
Opportunity is a Godsend
While she intends to eventually return to performing public health work, Shakita is also trying to launch her side gig, a travel agency. That business, though, was shaken by the corona virus pandemic and has yet to recover.
Looking to bolster her income, Shakita saw the opportunity to work for one of Working Solutions’ travel clients. She expressed an interest and got the job last November.
“Working Solutions has been a godsend,” she said. “I am able to work from home, set my own hours and utilize my communications skills. I am also able to continue to build my side business.”

Shakita’s Working Solutions clients include a burgeoning, home-exercise equipment business, a consumer-focused travel agency and a real-estate transaction company.
The travel agency has been her favorite client due to her familiarity with the business and her ability to interact with customers. While some might “think we are doing the impossible when it comes to redoing travel arrangements due to COVID and other issues,” she said. “But, for me, it’s all in a day’s work, and I enjoy it.”
Shakita lauds Working Solutions’ onboarding programs. When she transitioned to the exercise-equipment account, Working Solutions provided extensive education, not only on the basics, but also on the new industry she’d be serving. “The program has been very impressive.”
