Christina Brings Worldly Experiences to Customer Service

2 minutes

Christina    Customer Service Expert     Agent for Working Solutions

At age 18, Christina traveled to India, worked in an orphanage and visited schools all over the southern part of the country with a gospel skit group. When she returned home to the U.S., she leveraged this experience in her personal and professional lives.

“India was unfamiliar, but I learned so much,” Christina said. “It was tremendously helpful in setting the stage for homeschooling and remote customer service. You need to become self-sufficient and comfortable in working alone.”

Christina has homeschooled her daughter and uses this teaching prowess in her customer-service calls. “Both activities require you to be clear in your communications and patient,” she said.

Enjoying “Best of Both Worlds”

Christina, her husband and her seven-and-a-half-year-old daughter live in Kannapolis, North Carolina, which is about 20 miles north of Charlotte. The town essentially straddles rural and suburban areas. “We enjoy the best of both worlds. Small-town charm with big-city amenities.”

Christina joined Working Solutions a little more than two years ago when she and her husband needed money to afford their new house. She has never regretted the move.

“I had worked as a nanny, then in information technology and then in graphics. And finally, I did some customer service work. By the time I started with Working Solutions, remote contact center work came quite naturally to me.”

Serving Diverse Clients

As for clients, Christina has two accounts right now. One works with seniors. The other involves tax preparation software. Each account has its own challenges and distinctions.

With the first one, family members are seeking the right resources, often the most appropriate places for their loved ones to relocate as their lives change. “It can be heartbreaking, but it is so rewarding to find people for them to turn to,” Christina said.

With the other client, calls can be long, depending on the complexity of the tax issue. Christina listens and offers guidance. “If anything, the coronavirus pandemic has helped increase my patience in dealing with tough problems.”

Achieving Work-Life Balance

In her free time, Christina likes to blog and collect old things–including drinking mugs.

She and her family also enjoy traveling, but typically stay close to home. Christina lived in Charleston, South Carolina for a year-and-a-half and loved learning about the city’s history. She recently traveled to Wilmington and saw the World War II battleship, the U.S.S. North Carolina, docked there.

Christina feels good that her life is so satisfying and well-balanced. With Working Solutions, she selects her own schedule. This flexibility enables her to not only work, but also to homeschool her daughter.

She’s found the perfect fit for her life.
