Windows Operating System: A Look Back and What’s Ahead

8 minutes

As Microsoft sunsets Windows 7 OS, Working Solutions high-tech expert Justin Dumlao reminisces about the storied past of the operating system.

In his new video, Dumlao, manager of Agent Technical Support, presents a historical perspective: “Windows 7 was released by Microsoft on October 22, 2009 as the latest in the 25-year-old line of Windows operating systems and as the successor to Windows Vista Enhancements.”

He advises Working Solutions contact center agents that its time soon will be over, with Microsoft ending support in January 2020. Agents now need to switch to Windows 10 to deliver superior customer service for clients.

All in all, Windows 7 had a good run of 10+ years. With its ever-evolving technology, Microsoft continues to improve the user experience—with “features that allow you to interact with the OS via augmented reality,” says Dumlao.

For remote contact center agents, that’s a real plus.
